Coolie DESTROYS WAR 2 in Advance Sales! COOLIE Takes Over USA Box Office!

COOLIE VS WAR 2

War 2 vs Coolie Advance Booking Showdown: Who’s Leading the Charge?

A Thunderous Start for Coolie

Superstar Rajinikanth’s Coolie is creating seismic waves in North American advance bookings, dominating its rival War 2 by wide margins.

It has already grossed over $1 million, surpassing War 2, which lags at around $200K. The gap widens with Coolie’s total nearing $1.33 million, while War 2 trails with approximately $266K across Hindi and Telugu versions.

In the U.S., Coolie has generated a whopping ₹2.5 crore (~$300K) in advance premiere bookings alone.

It has also surpassed Rajinikanth’s own Jailer for the highest-ever premiere day ticket bookings in the U.S., purely through pre-sales.

Industry tracker AB George cites $1.15 million in U.S. premiere sales across 447 locations and 1,276 shows, bringing North American pre-sales to around $1.33 million.

Multiple sources, including Sakshi Post, report Coolie has already pulled in $1.5 million overseas, equivalent to over ₹25 crore in advance bookings.

War 2 Falls Short—But Has Regional Strength

War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, struggles to match Coolie in overall pre-sales.

U.S. advance bookings stand at roughly $266K, broken down into $190K from the Telugu version and $76K from Hindi. Coolie, in comparison, has garnered $1.33 million, with Tamil contributing $1.06 million and Telugu around $264K.

While Coolie is leading globally, War 2 retains its stronghold in Hindi-speaking regions and parts of the South, particularly Telugu-speaking markets.

Pre‑Release Buzz & Market Outlook

Trade experts confirm Coolie commands nearly 60% of the pre-release buzz compared to War 2. The Tamil blockbuster’s star-studded cast—which includes Rajinikanth, Nagarjuna, Upendra, Aamir Khan and others—has accelerated its hype. Meanwhile, War 2, despite being part of YRF’s Spy Universe, has had a more restrained promotional buildup.

Analysts foresee ₹80–90 crore gross for Coolie on opening day in India and up to ₹150 crore worldwide, while War 2 could open at ₹75 crore in India and ₹100–125 crore globally. The Independence Day four-day weekend presents a lucrative opportunity for both.
